In this video, learn what a Renewable Energy Professional is and how they can help you with your sustainability goals.
Hi! I’m Mike Zaura, a senior energy advisor and Certified Energy Manager at Nania Energy. And I recently became a Certified Renewable Energy Professional as certified by the Association of Energy Engineers — who gave me this awesome certificate!
So what is an REP? Well, that’s what we’re talking about in today’s Two-Minute Tuesday.
What is a Renewable Energy Professional?
Per the association, an REP is an energy manager that has selected to focus on energy generation, production, storage technologies, and strategies that are considered green and clean, renewable, or sustainable.
Why is that important to you?
What does all that mean, and why is it important to you?
REPs use their specialized knowledge to help companies in a variety of ways.
- They help them set renewable energy goals.
- They help them identify green energy projects.
- And they can help maximize the benefits of renewable energy systems.
At the end of the day, and REP (like me) can be your guide for any sustainable energy projects or green initiatives that you or the organization might have going forward.
REP + Senior Energy Advisor
So how does the REP certification fit with being a senior energy advisor?
Say you’re looking for RECs. I can help you incorporate them into your energy procurement strategy.
And if you’re looking for something larger-scale in terms of renewable energy projects, like putting up a solar array or some other hard asset, I can help you map out what the project entails and identify incentives and possible rebates that will help you maximize your return on that investment.
Let’s chat!
Now more than ever before, companies across the globe are developing new sustainability initiatives to help lower their carbon footprint and lessen their impact on our environment. I’ve been passionate about green energy for a long time, and it was particularly important to me to achieve this REP designation so I can help organizations achieve their goals.
If you have any sustainability initiatives or anything green-related you’d love to discuss, I’d be very happy to have a conversation with you. Thank you for watching!
